Ingredients
- Rye Whiskey1.5 oz
- Beetroot Shrub0.75 oz
- Lemon Juice0.75 oz
- Egg White1 oz
- Angostura Bitters2 dashes
Method
- 1.Combine rye, beetroot shrub, lemon juice, and egg white in a shaker.
- 2.Dry shake vigorously for 10 seconds.
- 3.Add ice and shake hard for 12 seconds.
- 4.Double-strain into a coupe glass.
- 5.Dash Angostura bitters on the foam.
Notes
- For beetroot shrub: juice 2 raw beets, combine with equal parts apple cider vinegar and sugar, stir until dissolved, and refrigerate for 24 hours.
- The beetroot adds earthy sweetness and a striking ruby color.
