Based on the Hemingway Daiquiri (Papa Doble) — Hemingway's preferred frozen spec at El Floridita in Havana, with maraschino and grapefruit.

  1. 1.Combine all ingredients except ice in a blender.
  2. 2.Add ice and blend on high for 15-20 seconds until smooth and uniform.
  3. 3.Pour into a chilled coupe or double old-fashioned glass.
  4. 4.Garnish with a lime wheel.

Notes

  • The Hemingway spec is ideal for frozen because the maraschino and grapefruit add complexity that holds up against the cold.
  • If you prefer a standard frozen daiquiri, drop the maraschino and grapefruit — use 2 oz rum, 1 oz lime, 0.75 oz simple.
