Frosé (Frozen Rosé)
Frozen · Served frozen in a Wine glass
Popularized by Bar Primi in New York City, 2016 — the drink that launched a thousand Instagram posts and a global frosé craze.
Ingredients
- Rosé Wine750 ml
- Strawberries5 each
- Lemon Juice1 oz
- Simple Syrup2 oz
Method
- 1.Pour the rosé into a shallow baking pan and freeze for at least 6 hours until slushy — it won't freeze completely solid due to the alcohol.
- 2.Scrape the frozen rosé into a blender. Add strawberries, lemon juice, and simple syrup.
- 3.Blend on high until smooth and thick, about 20-30 seconds.
- 4.Pour into wine glasses. Serve immediately.
Notes
- This recipe makes about 4 servings from one bottle of rosé.
- Use a dry Provence-style rosé — sweet rosé will make the final drink cloying.
- Must be served immediately. It melts fast and won't refreeze well.
