Created by Sam Ross at Milk & Honey (now Attaboy), NYC — one of the most important modern classic cocktails, born from the legendary menu-less bar.
Ingredients
- Blended Scotch2 oz
- Lemon Juice0.75 oz
- Honey-Ginger Syrup0.75 oz
- Islay Scotch0.25 oz
Method
- 1.Combine blended scotch, lemon juice, and honey-ginger syrup in a shaker with ice.
- 2.Shake hard for 12 seconds.
- 3.Strain into a rocks glass over a large ice cube.
- 4.Float the Islay scotch on top by pouring it gently over the back of a barspoon.
- 5.Garnish with a piece of candied ginger.
Notes
- For honey-ginger syrup: combine equal parts honey with hot water, add 1 inch fresh ginger per cup, steep 1 hour, fine-strain.
