Champagne Cocktail — Artesian (#1, 2012-2015)

Inspired by Artesian at The Langham, London — which held the title of World's Best Bar four consecutive years (2012-2015) under Alex Kratena and Simone Caporale.

Ingredients

Method

  1. 1.Place a sugar cube in a champagne flute and soak it with Angostura bitters.
  2. 2.Add cognac, maraschino liqueur, and bergamot syrup to the flute.
  3. 3.Top slowly with well-chilled Champagne.
  4. 4.Stir very gently once to integrate without losing carbonation.
  5. 5.Garnish with a long lemon twist spiraled inside the glass.

Notes

  • The bergamot adds an Earl Grey-like elegance.
