Inspired by Artesian at The Langham, London — which held the title of World's Best Bar four consecutive years (2012-2015) under Alex Kratena and Simone Caporale.
Ingredients
- Cognac0.75 oz
- Maraschino Liqueur0.25 oz
- Bergamot Syrup0.25 oz
- Angostura Bitters2 dashes
- Champagne3 oz
Method
- 1.Place a sugar cube in a champagne flute and soak it with Angostura bitters.
- 2.Add cognac, maraschino liqueur, and bergamot syrup to the flute.
- 3.Top slowly with well-chilled Champagne.
- 4.Stir very gently once to integrate without losing carbonation.
- 5.Garnish with a long lemon twist spiraled inside the glass.
Notes
- The bergamot adds an Earl Grey-like elegance.
