Method

  1. 1.Combine all ingredients in a punch bowl or large container.
  2. 2.Stir well. Add a large block of ice to the bowl — this provides dilution as it melts during service.
  3. 3.Ladle into cups. Garnish each with grated nutmeg.

Notes

  • Classic 'one of sour, two of sweet, three of strong, four of weak' ratio.
  • No pre-added dilution water — the large ice block in the punch bowl provides gradual dilution during service. If pre-batching without ice, add ~375ml water.
  • Use fresh lime juice — the acidity is what makes or breaks punch.
