Batched Cocktails
Ingredients
- Bourbon1.5 oz
- Campari1 oz
- Sweet Vermouth1 oz
- Water0.7 oz
Method
- 1.Combine bourbon, Campari, and sweet vermouth.
- 2.If pre-batching (fridge or freezer): add water for dilution (~20% of spirit volume). Bottle and refrigerate or freeze. Pour directly over a large ice cube. Garnish with an orange peel.
- 3.If stirring to order: omit the water. Combine in a mixing glass with ice, stir for 25-30 seconds. Strain over a large ice cube in a rocks glass. Garnish with an orange peel.
Notes
- Pre-batched: water replaces the dilution from stirring. Keeps 4-6 weeks refrigerated, longer frozen.
- Stirred to order: no water needed — ice provides ~20-25% dilution during the stir.
- This is a stirred drink, not shaken. Batching and pouring over a large cube is the best approach for volume service.
