Batched Cocktails
Ingredients
- Rye Whiskey750 ml
- Sweet Vermouth375 ml
- Angostura Bitters15 ml
- Water225 ml
Method
- 1.Combine rye, sweet vermouth, and bitters in a large container.
- 2.Add water for dilution — replaces the ~20% dilution from stirring over ice.
- 3.Stir well, bottle, and refrigerate.
- 4.Serve poured directly into a chilled coupe. Garnish with a cherry.
Notes
- Water is required for pre-batching — skipping it makes the drink taste too spirit-forward and hot.
- If stirring to order instead, omit the water and stir each serving with ice for 25-30 seconds.
- Keeps 4-6 weeks refrigerated. The vermouth is the limiting factor for shelf life.
