Method

  1. 1.Heat chai concentrate in a saucepan until steaming.
  2. 2.Add honey and stir until dissolved.
  3. 3.Pour bourbon into a preheated mug.
  4. 4.Add the hot chai and stir.
  5. 5.Top with steamed or frothed milk.
  6. 6.Dust with cinnamon or cardamom.

Notes

  • Make chai concentrate from scratch for the best version: simmer black tea with cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, ginger, and black pepper in water, then strain.
  • Bourbon's vanilla and caramel notes are a natural match for chai spices. Rye whiskey or aged rum also work well.
  • For a richer version, use oat milk — it froths well and adds body.
