Created at the Holiday Isle Tiki Bar in Islamorada, Florida Keys, in the 1950s — designed to use up overstock of rum and liqueurs.

Ingredients

Method

  1. 1.Combine dark rum, blackberry liqueur, banana liqueur, juices, and grenadine in a shaker with ice.
  2. 2.Shake hard for 10-12 seconds.
  3. 3.Strain into a hurricane glass over crushed ice.
  4. 4.Float overproof rum on top by pouring over the back of a spoon.
  5. 5.Garnish with an orange slice and cherry.
