Created at the Soggy Dollar Bar on Jost Van Dyke, British Virgin Islands — named because patrons had to swim ashore and pay with wet money.

Method

  1. 1.Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice.
  2. 2.Shake hard for 12-15 seconds.
  3. 3.Strain into a hurricane glass or tiki mug over crushed ice.
  4. 4.Grate fresh nutmeg generously over the top.
  5. 5.Garnish with an orange slice.

Notes

  • Pusser's trademarked the recipe — the original specifically calls for their Navy Rum.
  • This is a 'Painkiller #2' (2 oz rum). A #3 uses 3 oz, a #4 uses 4 oz. Adjust to taste.
  • Fresh nutmeg on top is non-negotiable.
