Hot Toddy
Classic Cocktails · Served hot in a Mug
Ingredients
- Bourbon or Scotch2 oz
- Honey0.75 oz
- Lemon Juice0.5 oz
- Hot Water4 oz
Method
- 1.Add honey to a preheated mug.
- 2.Pour in a small amount of hot water and stir to dissolve the honey.
- 3.Add whiskey and lemon juice.
- 4.Top with remaining hot water and stir.
- 5.Garnish with a lemon wheel studded with cloves and a cinnamon stick.
Notes
- The water should be hot but not boiling — around 175°F. Boiling water will make the drink harsh.
- Bourbon gives a sweeter, rounder toddy; Scotch gives a smokier, more complex one.
